Florence, Italy
Having had the privilege of visiting Florence multiple times, the city remains an enchanting haven where rich cultural heritage and artistic splendor intertwine seamlessly. Like many others I feel in love with Italy upon my first arrival into Florence. Exploring iconic landmarks such as the Florence Cathedral, Uffizi Gallery, Statue of David, and Ponte Vecchio during past visits, each stroll through the Renaissance streets felt like a step back in time, revealing layers of history and craftsmanship. The experience of indulging in authentic Tuscan cuisine at charming trattorias and immersing myself in the vibrant atmosphere has become a cherished memory.
Accommodations in Florence have been equally memorable, ranging from elegant boutique hotels to historic palazzos, each offering a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. Whether waking up to the panoramic views of the Arno River or savoring the timeless elegance of a restored palazzo, the accommodations added a layer of sophistication to the overall experience. Florence's allure, from the timeless architecture to the culinary delights, leaves an indelible mark, making it a destination that beckons one to return, relishing the magic of this Italian gem time and time again.
Culinary Delights
Dining in Florence is an exquisite journey into the heart of Italian culinary mastery, where every meal feels like a celebration of flavors and tradition. From cozy trattorias tucked away in narrow cobblestone streets to elegant restaurants overlooking the Arno River, Florence offers a diverse gastronomic landscape. The city is famed for its locally sourced ingredients, transforming classic Tuscan dishes into culinary works of art. Indulge in the rich flavors of ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, and the iconic bistecca alla fiorentina, accompanied by a fine Chianti or my personal favorite Brunello wine. The bustling Mercato Centrale, a food lover's paradise, showcases the region's freshest produce, cheeses, and cured meats, inviting visitors to experience the essence of Tuscan cuisine. Dining in Florence is not just a meal; it's a sensory exploration of tradition, innovation, and the warm hospitality that defines the heart of Italy.
When you go to Florence you absolutely need to have at least one panini (or one day). The most famous is All’antico Vinanio but, if your like me and have no desire to wait in a three hour line then you might want to try Pinos or I’Girone de Ghotti.
Obviously Naples is home to the best Italy but, there are still a few amazing pizza shops in Florence. I usually either go to Gusta or Gustarium.
Now on to restaurants there are so many but here are some I love: La Giostra, Gobbi 13, Il Santo Bevitore, Osteria Santo Spirito, Osteria dell Enoteca, Cinghale Bianco, Zeb, and Trattoria Sostanza.
Oh yeah, don’t forget about gelato I always only go to Perche No!

Whether seeking Renaissance-inspired luxury or contemporary design, Florence's hotels promise a stay as enchanting as the city itself, complementing the artistic and cultural tapestry of this Italian gem.
My all time favorite hotel in Florence is actually about ten minutes outside the city and directly on the Arno. Villa La Massa is a gorgeous luxury boutique hotel that makes you feel like you’re in Tuscany.
My other hotel recommendations include: Hotel La Gemma, Il Tornabuoni, The St. Regis Florence, Portrait Firenze, Hotel Lungarno, Grand Hotel Minerva, Hotel Continentale, and Casa G.
